8th RRPG International Conference Plenary session. May 16th, 2017 UGM Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

The 8th RRPG International Conference was held at Geography Faculty UGM, Yogyakarta Indonesia on May 16th, 2017, which was continued with some villages visit in  Yogyakarta area on following day May 17th, 2017.

The event also displayed BUMDES (Badan Usaha Milik Desa – Village owned cooperation) exhibition to support the village development program in Indonesia. The conference was attended by about 100 presenters and almost 200 participants.

The Conference presented a plenary session and 12 panels session. The keynote speakers of plenary session i.e. representative Minister of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Region and Transmigration of Republic Indonesia; Prof. Ir. Hasanudin Z. Abidin, Head of Geospatial Information Agency of Republic Indonesia; Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Ngah, Founder Member of RRPG, UTM Malaysia.

On May 17th, 2017, the participants visited Parangtritis Geo Maritime Science Park, Samas beach at Srigading village as a BUMDES program for village tourism, and community initiative for garbage processing.
